Jee Won Kang

Jee Won (she/her) is a 2nd-year PhD student in the UCLA Clinical Psychology program working with CAPPS as a graduate student assessor and trainee. Before coming UCLA, she received a B.A. in Psychology at Brown University. She then worked at the Fetal-Neonatal Neuroimaging Developmental Science Center at Boston Children’s Hospital, where she studied changes in brain structure among individuals with severe congenital heart disease under the supervision of Dr. Ai Wern Chung. She is passionate about working with youth and families from diverse backgrounds managing complex medical and psychological needs and expanding access to effective treatment. Jee Won’s research interests lie in studying neurobiological mechanisms that drive atypical development in brain structure and function throughout childhood and adolescence, with goals of using this research to improve risk management and early interventions for psychiatric disorders.
